În perioada 9-10 Ianuarie 2019, reprezentanţii Fundaţiei Health Action Overseas România (HAO), Valakupiai Rehabilitation Centre (Lituania) şi Consultis – Consultoria Empresarial, Unipessoal Lda. (Portugalia), însoţiţi de reprezentantul Status Employment au efectuat o serie de vizite de lucru în Marea Britanie, la Kent County Council, Lambeth House şi Croydon Gateway & Resident’ Services.
The event took place on the 8th of December, on the platform www.eeagrants.evento-digitale.it, and it was moderated by Alina Sachelaru, Supported Employment specialist with HAO Romania. The workshop was organized by the LEAD project team, in collaboration with the Bucovina Institute (the leading partner within SEPAL project), and it was addressed to the representatives of governmental and non-governmental companies, institutions / organizations that support the social and professional inclusion of young adults with disabilities.
The event took place within the “REGIONAL FUNDS WEEK” (6th – 10th December 2021), an online event organised by the Fund Operator for Fund for Youth Employment and Fund for Regional Cooperation together with the Projects’ promoters of both Funds.
On this occasion, Robert Elston, Chief Executive, Status Employment, talked about: the history of the Supported Employment, the principles and stages of this process, the changes generated by the fourth industrial revolution on Supported Employment services.
Also, the event was an excellent opportunity for Alina Sachelaru (HAO Romania) and Marija Markina (Valakupiai Rehabilitation Center) to present six success stories of young adults from Romania and Lithuania who benefited from Supported Employment services within the LEAD project. The heroes of these success stories were: Ionuț (entrepreneur in the accounting field), Diana (a 24-year-old writer), and Cătălin (independent masseur) from Romania, and Anna (she obtained a driver’s licence despite her physical disability), Joana (volunteer in Charity and support fund CARITAS candle workshop unit), and Sofia (former volunteer at National Library “Martyno Mazvydo”, today translator) from Lithuania.
Also, the participants had the opportunity to find out valuable information about the SEPAL project’s results, focusing on the SEPAL Coalition. According to Petru-Vasile Gafiuc, the president of Bucovina Institute, the aims of this Coalition is to improve partners’ capacity to assist NEETs’ integration on the labour market through preparing a common action plan of intervention at the EU level.
The conclusions of this workshop were presented by Cristina Şerbănescu (communication manager, LEAD project) during the final plenary session, held on the 10th of December, 2021.
